Houston Ranks on the 2023 List of World's Best Cities
"Educated, diverse, and hardworking, Houston is America's stealthy powerhouse on the rise."
Houston landed at number 42 on the list of the world's best cities to live, work, and invest. Our city claimed the 11th spot among U.S. cities and was NUMBER ONE in Texas!
According to Resonance Consulting's exclusive ranking of the world's best cities, their 2023 report ranks global cities based on six core categories; place, product, programming, people, prosperity, and promotion. Within these categories, cities were then ranked based on factors like outdoor spaces, nightlife, restaurants, attractions, employment rate, universities, number of fortune 500 corporate headquarters, and Google trends and searches.
Houston ranked particularly high in the "Google Trends" and "GDP (gross domestic product) per Capita" categories. The fifth-largest city in the U.S. has stirred global curiosity with a top 10 GDP per Capita finish and was among the top five Googled cities over the past year!
With more than 145 languages spoken at home, the report ranked Houston #26 for culture. Due to the wave of post-pandemic launches currently happening -- from food halls like Railway Heights and POST Houston -- Houston was ranked #31 for restaurants.
"Austin may get the attention, but the promise of the Lone Star State drawing Californians and New Yorkers is quietly being fulfilled in Houston. In the past year, immigration both domestic and international has swelled the metro population almost seven million—an increase of almost 300,000."
