Midway Through Summer, Home Sales Continue to Outpace 2017's Record Volume

ouston Association of Realtor's (HAR) July 2018 Sales Report is in - "Houston home sales showed no let-up in July, but the pace was not enough to rival the record-setting volume and pricing set in June." Single-family home sales, total property sales, pricing and total dollar volume are all up from this time last year. Sales or single-family homes jumped 9.1% with prices reaching the highest levels EVER for a July. On a year-to-date basis, home sales are currently 3.4% ahead of 2017's record volume.
In it's July 24th Employment Update, the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) reported that 94,600 new jobs were created in the past year (a 3.1% increase) in the Houston area. With the healthy job market continuing to draw new hires to Houston. the housing market shows no signs of slowing down!
