Houston Restaurant Weeks is Back

T
he dining phenomenon that is Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW) is back!! The most anticipated food event of the year runs through Labor Day; that’s 34 days of gourmet meals and deals raising money for The Houston Food Bank. For those of who you haven’t experienced the month-long charity event; it’s the time to try the spots or award winning chefs you have had on your dining wish list (I’m looking at you B&B Butchers, Potente & International Smoke).

The formula for HRW is brilliant! Top restaurants all over Houston prepare carefully curated multi course menus at a set price - $35 or $45 for dinner and $20 for lunch or brunch – and donate a fixed dollar amount for every menu sold to the Houston Food Bank.

The month long dining extravaganza is the largest annual fundraiser for America’s largest food bank. The over 250 restaurants, that are participating this year, range from fine dining to ultra casual and span from The Woodlands to Galveston.

The event’s organizer, TV and radio host Cleverly Stone, summarizes it perfectly. "HRW is a win for restaurants that have turned one of year’s slowest months into one of their busiest, a win for diners who get to try some of the city’s most popular establishments at a discount, and a win for the Food Bank, which has received over $12.2 million since 2003.

I’ve rounded up some articles to whet your whistle and help you finalize your dining bucket-list! Happy Dining!
